BOOKS

You will find titles for all interests and English levels. We like to choose books that have movies because they are great for comparing and contrasting. We also like books that have been translated into many languages because you can read a chapter in English side-by-side the book in your language.

If there is a genre that you would like to see on the bookshelf, or if you want to suggest a book to add, please let us know!

MUSIC

Music is a wonderfully passive way to enjoy English. We like to share genres that are commonly listened to in the U.S. that may not be so common internationally. We want to share unique narratives, so you will likely discover that some of the artists are up-and-coming (they are new).

Music can be an active learning activity as well:

          1. Translate the lyrics

          2. Make dialogues using the lyrics

          3. Write new lyrics to the songs you enjoy

NOTICE:
The CertaLingual Team enjoys language in all of its forms. We see it as a representation of culture and art; however, we recognize that the not everyone will want to hear bad words (also called, "swear words" and "curse words"). So, we recommend that if you want to avoid those kinds of lyrics, do not listen to songs that have the letter "E" or the word "Explicit" next to it.

Write your own lyrics!
